Do the smallest of things with the greatest of love. – Mother Theresa

An elderly woman from my church drives to the court house at various times to pray for all people and situations.  An elderly man drives to a busy intersection, every day to wave to the people driving by his vehicle.   A grandmother bakes little loaves of brown bread to give to her neighbors in need.

Each of these small gifts of great love have inspired me to turn my own life into blessing others in small ways.  I used to think my talents and gifts were not good enough and would not make much of a difference to helping others. I now know after being inspired by these 3 precious people that it does not matter the size of the gift as long as it is given in great love.

Love is the highest energy.  Love heals all, bears all and endures all.  Love is also very contagious.  The more love you give, the more love you have to give.  Let us each share one little gift of ourselves in the greatest of love.

Through love, we can each make a difference.  Through love, we can change a negative situation into a positive outcome.  Through love, we can help heal a broken heart and give hope to one in need.

For today, give one small gift of yourself in the greatest of love.

God bless all.

“Fear not for I am with you.  Do not be dismayed, for I am Your God.  I will strengthen you.  Yes, I will help you.  I will uphold you with My righteous right hand” Isaiah 41:10

This  has been a sultry, hot, almost unbearable summer.  We have had 3 tornadoes touch down in Maine leaving substantial damage.  The thunderstorms we have been getting are not just little thunderstorms but strong, supercells capable of significant damage.

Yesterday,  it was predicted that Maine was in for another day of ferocious weather.  I began to get very anxious to be home alone with the dog while my husband worked.  Immediately, I called for prayer for the entire state of Maine to be protected from severe weather.  I kept hearing the Lord say to me, “Fear Not for I am with you”.  I kept praying and the Lord kept telling me to fear not.  As it turned out Maine was kept safe.  There were strong thunderstorms but no reports of damage.  My area did not even get a drop of rain!  Praise God!

So many times fear can take over and keep us in an unending cyclone of terror.  These are times when we must keep our eyes on the Lord and trust Him.  God’s plan is for us to prosper not to fail or not to be devastated by disaster.  It is hard to not focus on all the strange weather and disasters happening in the world.  This is why we need to persevere in prayer.  One person can call upon one thousand angels.  Two people can call ten thousand!  Let us come together in prayer and love, edify one another and strengthen one another.  Together with God’s help we can do anything!

Lord, we come before You.  We take hold of Your hand.  Let us know Your loving presence and compassion at all times and in all things.  Strengthen us Lord, so that we can reach out to others in need.  Comfort us Lord, let us find rest in Your loving arms of peace.

God bless all,

Smile, Breathe and Go Slowly- Thich Naht Hanh

For today,

I will take gentle breaths and allow God’s love to flow in and through me.

I will release all anger, judgment and resentment.

I will release all worry and fear.

I will be grateful and trust that all will be well.

I will be true to myself and true to others.

I will serve myself and others with compassion.

I will smile, smile and smile!

God bless all,

Kathy Mikshenas
